The first thing you are going to need to be able to tell is if it is a spot caused by a leak or a condensation spot. We get calls all the time for my Poway roofing company for people who think they have a leak.But once we do get to look at the house we see that it really isn’t a leak but caused by condensation.The quick way to see if it is condensation is you will see it doesn’t have a design.Now a true leak you will find makes a circular shape.So if the spot you see has a circular shape you know you have a leak.
The next thing you want to do is check weak spots on the roof. Places like by chimneys are a known weak spot and it tends to leak there. In our Vista roofing service we always check those areas because it is so common that it leaks there.It is a fix that is really easy to do because all you have to do is seal that area.
Finally you want to check for points on the roof where a nail has penetrated.A lot of times the people who put the roof in when they are nailing it in, those very nail spots aren’t sealed. This is the cause of leaks that we find in my Encinitas roofing service. This is also a very easy fix by just finding the spot then sealing it.
